17 Players qualified for Knockout Play, with a great field of players both old and new.
In the top 16 round Ben Robb was on form in his match against Jimmy Samuels winning 4 to 1.
John Hurring had a great win over Andrew Hastings winning 4 to nil.
Mark Cleaver was again steady in his win over Mike Keen 4 to 1.
Stu Irwin had a belter of a game against Nevin Filimoeatu winning a close battle 4 to 2.
Darren Herewini beat youngster Jack Sheppard 4 to 1.
Tukina Weko found his groove and won his match against the form Kayden Milne 4 to 1.
Hipi Tewhakaara won the battle of the top 16 round with the closest match up winning in the last leg against Jamie Roberts 4 to 3.
Warren Parry was back on with his great win over Steve Hanley 4 to 1.
The Top 8 was a showing of some phenomenal players.
Ben Robb played his best mate John Hurring only loosing 1 leg in the match. Ben won 5 to 1.
Warren Parry played one player who fly’s under the radar and is a damn good solid player, Hipi Tewhakaara. Warren won 5 to 1 but Hipi certainly played some great darts.
Darren Herewini played his mate Tukina Weko; Tuks didn’t let him have it all his own way, pushing him all the way. Darren won 5 to 3.
Mark Clever was up against his mate and travel companion this was a great match of the round to watch with Stu Irwin winning 5 to 3.
Semi Final time and all four seeds made it through.
Ben Robb played Stu Irwin. Big Rig didn’t have an easy run in this semi-final, Stingray threw some exceptional darts and took his chances when he could but Ben was the victor 6 to 3. Unlucky Stingray but you can certainly be proud of the great darts you played.
Warren Parry played Darren Herewini in the second semi-final; this was the semi-final to watch it was a topsy turvy match with both players going leg for leg in a real nail biter. It all came down to the last leg with Darren missing the double and letting Warren in to take the match. Warren won 6 to 5.
Finals time and it was the 2022 World Cup of Darts that represented New Zealand team mates up against each other, Ben Robb and Warren Parry. Ben Robb won the bull and threw first. It was a great match up but Ben was just too clinical, Warren had some huge scores and chances but Ben was just too good on the day.
Ben and Warren now cement their spots on the New Zealand Dart Masters Stage as New Zealand’s final two players.
